Tapping into your Psychic abilities
Like many psychics, I am often asked how I became a psychic, in other
words how I came to develop my abilities. People want to know
the secret, what’s
the magic key in opening these abilities, claimed by so many to lie within all
of us. So I thought I’d devote a section to help some of you would be psychics
and share some tips I have found useful myself in making that all important connection.
Some of these things you may have heard before, others you may have not.
1. De-stress.
I do believe that all of us have some sort of psychic ability,
how accessible that ability is, really depends on how we live our lives.
The happier, more content we are with ourselves, the easier it will be
to receive messages and connect to others. We all know how stress can
take a toll
on our
mental and physical well being, so it’s not surprising how stress can
easily block our minds. The best of psychics all have “moments” or
even great chunks of time where our connection to the light (spirits,
divine, etc.) isn’t as strong as other times. It is that little thing
we call life and being human. So I would first start with de-stressing
techniques before
you can even begin to try and make positive connections to others. You
must make time for yourself, wind down and let the issues of your own
life go in
order to see the messages clearly and without judgement. How can you
give divine guidance if you are full of negative energy? Meditation is
one way, for those
of you who cannot meditate, just sitting down for 10 minutes each day
in a quiet space will do to start with. Do anything that makes you feel
relaxed and at ease with yourself. (a bath, a quiet room, candles, whatever!)
You must
imagine all of your daily worries and stresses leaving your body and
positive loving light entering your body. Breathe in positive, breathe
out
negative.
2. Make Time.
In order to get your psychic ability developed, you must make
time to use it. Does a doctor learn his trade in a day? Doesn’t every
skill take time and practice? Every talent has someone who is a “natural
born”, but even someone who is not a natural can learn any skill with
time. Being psychic is no different. If you don’t practice you won’t
see results. Even if you have no one to read for there are still ways of practicing.
If you use a tool (like Tarot, a pendulum, etc.) then make time to use it for
yourself, see if you can give yourself guidance for the day. (i.e., what is
today’s outlook, is this or that going to work out well for me...etc.)
If you are not using a tool, then just ask yourself questions and see what
answer you get. (Do this in a quiet space to get more true answers) I would
also recommend that you write down or keep a diary of your answers, as this
will give you an insight to your progress.
3. Trust Yourself.
The biggest downfall to new psychics is learning to let
go of your doubts when reading for others. We find it really awkward
to say to someone “I’m getting the image of a woman...holding an apple
and a piece of wood?” it sounds so absurd to us, when in fact it could
be that person’s loved one whose last name was/is Applewood. You must
say what you see, even if you feel silly saying it. I myself have found messages
that where completely off the wall, when in fact they made perfect sense to
my client. Feelings, visions, or just something that pops in your head are
all ways of getting messages, so pay attention to everything you feel during
a session. Remember you are allowing yourself to be a messenger; your guides
will use several methods to get their point across to you, in ways you may
not always be expecting! Yes, you will get it wrong sometimes, and in the beginning,
lots of times perhaps, it’s ok don’t dwell on it and move on in
the reading. After lots of practise you will begin to realise what is you making
assumptions and what are true messages coming through. I found in the beginning
of this path, I willed messages, I wanted something to come through and I found
myself drawing all kinds of conclusions. Just go with the flow and let it happen
naturally.
4. Your body is your Temple, take care of it.
This one, to me, is so important.
You will get out of your body and mind what you put into it. If you fill
yourself with junk or alcohol on a regular basis, you will not feel good and
you will
carry a cloudy mind. This isn’t to say you can’t ever drink or
that you have to stick to a strict diet, but it is worth taking a good hard
(and honest!) look at what you’re eating, drinking and doing to your
body. Exercise should also be making way into your life, even if it’s
just that you get outdoors and walk a little bit. I know of psychics who perhaps
smoke or eat a poor diet and still manage to do good readings, but I often
think of how much more they could be getting out of their readings if they
took care of their bodies as well. To me they are not living up to their full
potential and are denying themselves and their clients. Remember those times
when you have woken up from a “night before”, or times when you
have binged on junk food or sat in front of the television all day feeling
rather sluggish? Could you honestly feel psychic after those things? Having
good diet and exercise habits means you are more mentally clear, alert and
confident. Would you want to talk to a tired, run down psychic?
5. Call in your guides.
Ask for their guidance and protection, even if you
can’t see or hear them at all. They are there, and only wish for some
acknowledgement and respect, so thank them for helping you along the way. Begin
each reading (or meditation, etc.) with calling upon their assistance and end
each reading with a thank you for their help. It doesn’t matter if they
don’t show themselves to you, just know that you are getting the spiritual
help that they see fit.
6. Use your tools wisely.
If you decide to use a divination tool, such as
the Tarot or a pendulum, be sure you cleanse it properly before you use
it initially. You want to clear it of all negative energies and share with
it
some of your own energy in order to get it working for you. The more
you use it, the more it becomes yours. It’s important that you properly store
it when it’s not in use and respect it as a tool to aid in your divination.
Of course, you don’t have to have a tool to develop your abilities, but
some people may be drawn to one.
Of course, you may not be able to do all these things at once. But every little
change for the positive is one step from where you were before.
So, do I practise what I preach? Of course! I am only including tips that
I use myself, things which have helped me in my experience as a psychic.
What ends up putting so many people off on their path to developing is the
time it takes to get there. Like any skill, it takes time and a lot of patience,
but anyone can do it if you are willing to put your energy in. Take your time
and keep on and most of all, keep it positive!
Love & Light,
Mesina
